Here, at elevations of 1,700 to 1,900 meters, generations of smallholder farmers tend to ancient, indigenous heirloom cultivars, grown in rich nitisol soil that’s as red and vibrant as the land itself.
Coffee in Sidama isn’t just a crop—it’s a ritual, a rhythm of life. Cherries are hand-selected at their ripest, then naturally dried on raised beds under the African sun. Each bean is sorted by hand, a labor of love that preserves the integrity of flavor and showcases the stunning range of Ethiopia’s native genetics.
